28th February 1941
1:30pm 28th February 1941 - We are currently transiting through grid DG95, 950km west of the Canary Islands. We are 1700km away from our patrol area which should take another 4 days to reach. Leutnant Herbert Lindner informed me of the Corrientes supply ship stationed at Las Palmas in the Canary Islands and suggested it was a much more viable option than returning to St. Nazaire, given the distances and fuel limitation involved.
Personally I think the crew prefer the warmer climate and would try to avoid a return to the North Atlantic patrols.

I Agree with my officers suggestion, and the crew deserve a little extra time in a more pleasant environment, they have been through much already and I feel I owe it to them, if just to improve morale.
