We departed St. Nazaire at 2:05am to patrol grid BF17 once again. When we have patrolled our assigned grid for 48 hours I plan to extend our patrol northward into grid BF11. According to intelligence reports several convoys should be passing through BF11 within the next 2 weeks.We should arrive at our assigned area in approximately 30 hours if the weather stays calm and clear. All compartments report all clear on equipment tests, I plan to run a crash dive drill in several hours time, this also gives us the opportunity to test the pressure hull integrity.
Test dive was completed successfully, we took U-707 down to 179 metres depth. Pressure hull, seals and welds held and the crew performed admirably. We have returned to the surface and are currently 13hours away from our patrol zone.
